Desvenlafaxine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) antidepressant that is FDA-approved for treatment of major depressive disorder but is frequently prescribed off-label for the management of hot flashes and other vasomotor symptoms of menopause.
